All programs are Christian based with a Bible story of the month which is integrated into the everyday curriculum. Our staff recognizes all domains of each child, the physical, the social, the emotional, the intellectual, and the spiritual as significant parts of the whole child. Mommy and Me: (ages 3 – 30 months) Our Mommy and Me program is designed for a parent to be with his/her child and share in a variety of activities led by the teacher. Children 3-9 months (Infant) meet once a week for 45 minutes; children 10-19 months (Toddler I) meet once a week for 45 minutes with music enrichment and children 20-30 months (Toddler II) meet twice a week for 60 minute each session and music enrichment. We have two 15-week semesters with one starting in September and the second starting in February. Two Year Old Learn and Play: (2 years old by December 31, 2009) Learn and Play on MWF mornings or afternoons and T-Th mornings or afternoons is designed for children who will turn two by December 31. They are separated from their parents for 2 ¼ hours a day. The teachers prepare a safe environment and create an on-going theme based curriculum that emphasizes language skills, creative art and problem solving skills, coordination skills, social and emotional skills and thinking skills. Three Year Old Preschool: (3 years old by December 31, 2009) Preschool is designed for children who will be three by December 31. The children meet on MWF mornings or afternoons or T-Th mornings or afternoons for 2 ½ hours. The teachers create an on-going theme- based curriculum that gives the children an opportunity to have many hands-on experiences. The children develop positive relationships with their teachers and other children in a safe environment. The skills our curriculum emphasizes are cognitive, language, social studies, math, music dramatic play, science, gross motor and fine motor. We integrate these learning experiences/skills through nursery rhymes, colors, shapes, Bible stories, and self-help skills. Pre-Kindergarten: (4 year old by December 31, 2009) Pre-Kindergarten is designed for children who will be four by December 31. The children meet MTWThF mornings or afternoons or MWF mornings for 2 ½ hours. The teachers create and continue the on-going theme-based curriculum that integrates the skills needed for kindergarten. This includes the ability to listen well, follow directions, and continue to develop large and small muscle control. Literature, the alphabet, math (including counting), beginning writing, health and safety, science, motor skills, social skills, art and music appreciation, dramatic play, and self-help skills are incorporated into everyday activities. The teachers are always aware of each child’s individual needs and they work with individual children, small groups of children and the whole group. The children will have field trips scheduled throughout the year. Enrichment with Lunch: (for Pre-Kindergarten and Preschool children) Enrichment with Lunch is held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for Pre-K and Preschool children. Children bring lunch and either have an enrichment class before their afternoon class or after their morning class. Enrichment classes we may offer are: Monday – Movement and Exercise Tuesday - Movement and Exercise Wednesday - MUSIKGARTEN Thursday - Fun with Art and Movement Friday- Sign-Language
